Have Fear In The Lord

In the book of Proverbs, the fear of the Lord is a continual submission to God in humility and faith. There are 25 verses in the bible regarding fearing the Lord.  Even though the Lord is love and truth he no doubly be feared

Proverbs 23:17 Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long.

Having fear in the Lord will give you wisdom Job 28:28 “And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding.’”  When Moses wrote

“Now this is the commandment, the statutes and the judgements which the Lord your God has commanded me to teach you, that you might do them in the land where you are going over to possess it, so that you and your son and your grandson might fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, all the days of your life , and that your days may be prolonged”.

Now I fear the Lord and with that I have a strong connection and obedience to God’s will.  If you read Psalms 112:1, 115:13, 128:1.  The Israelites who obeyed God by having the fear of God, walking in his ways and finding delight in His commands are ultimately blessed by the Lord.  In our daily lives today, if we adhere to the fear of the Lord then we to will be blessed.  Keep up his commands, walk his ways and I guarantee you will be blessed.

So let the fear of the Lord deliver you from evil and sin.  Walk in his ways and you will be blessed with wisdom and a deeper spiritual knowledge.  You will have the strength to face all other fear.  Remember that this is also a command in the Old Testament and can be found in the New Testament.  1 Peter 2:17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

Psalm 23

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
